2014-09-20 PGConf.EU 2014 almost sold out - waitlist now available!

Due to unprecedented demand, we have now closed the normal registration for PostgreSQL Conference Europe with a month left to go until the event.

However, we do have a very small number of seats left, and may have additional ones become available in the event that existing registrants are unable to attend and cancel their registrations. We are maintaining a "wait list" for these seats which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To join the wait list, please register as normal here, and select the "Waitlist" registration type. Registrations from the wait list will be processed as soon as a seat becomes available.

We also have some seats available in the training sessions which may now be purchased without a registration for the main conference, offering a very cost-effective way to attend training on topics such as "Migration to PostgreSQL" and "PostgreSQL and Java". To register for these sessions, please use the "Single Day (Tuesday, training only)" option here, and select the desired training courses as additional options. Training sessions cost 150€ per half day, per delegate.

2014-08-28 Schedule posted - Matt Asay to deliver keynote

PostgreSQL Conference Europe is pleased to announce that the schedule for the 2014 event, to be held in Madrid from 21st - 24th October, has now been published.

As well as a wide range of talks for PostgreSQL users, developers and decision makers, we’re pleased to announce that our opening keynote speaker will be Matt Asay, Vice President of Community at MongoDB, who will discuss how PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases can work together, and where each shine on their own.

The schedule is, of course, subject to changes, and a few slots are still empty as we work to confirm the last set of speakers.

PostgreSQL Conference Europe 2014 is the sixth annual PostgreSQL Conference Europe, previous events having been held in cities such as Dublin, Prague and Amsterdam attracting hundreds of PostgreSQL developers and users. For more information and to register, please visit the website.

A discounted "early bird" registration rate is available until 15th September. A discount room rate at the conference hotel is available until 8th September, so we suggest you book your accommodation soon!

We still have seats left at some of the training sessions held the day before the main conference, taught by PostgreSQL experts from around the world, that are subject to availability at a first come first serve basis. See the training section on the website for details.

We look forward to seeing you in Madrid!

2014-08-25 Initial list of sessions

We are now part way through the process of approving sessions for PGConf.EU 2014 in Madrid. You can find a list of sessions approved at this point if you go to the session list page. Further sessions will be added to the list as soon as they have been approved, and a full schedule will be published once this is done and we've figured out what goes when.

At this point we're happy to report that there will be a full day of Spanish talks, and that we are planning to hold this on Wednesday 22/10. Thursday and Friday will have English talks only.

There are still some seats left for the training sessions, but they are selling fast so register quickly to ensure your seats!

2014-07-26 FOSDEM PGDay 2015

In a short break from the news about PGConf.EU, we're happy to announce that yes, there will be another FOSDEM PGDay next year. And of course, there will be plenty of PostgeSQL people at FOSDEM in the weekend as well.

As usual, it will be the day before FOSDEM itself (so mark January 30th 2015 in your calendar!), with a single track of PostgreSQL presentations. Since our regular hotel was sold out at the time already, we are in a new venue this time. It's still downtown Brussels, but a few blocks away, so don't book your hotelrooms just yet.

We will return with more information about the venue, how and when to book your accommodations, schedule for the CfP and other details sometime late August or early September.

See you again in Brussels!
